Rise & Raise

Rise (naik, terbit) is an intransitive verb which does not require an object. Raise (menaikkan) is a transitive verb which requires an object.
Examples:
The sun rises in the east.
= Matahari terbit di sebelah timur.
The salary rises.
= Gaji naik.
The government raises the salary.
= Pemerintah menaikkan gaji.
We need a crane to raise the car out of the river.
= Kita membutuhkan sebuah crane untuk mengangkat mobil itu keluar dari sungai.
